Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for healthcare professionals who require vaccination and injection skills training, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, registered nurses, nursing associates, and other clinical staff in the UK.

Do I need to complete pre-learning before attending?

Yes. Pre-learning is mandatory and must be reviewed before attending the face-to-face session. This ensures the practical session runs smoothly and safely for all participants.

What does the course cover?

The training includes vaccination and injection skills (intramuscular and subcutaneous), infection prevention and sharps safety, consent and documentation, legal and professional accountability, recognition of adverse reactions, anaphylaxis management, and Adult & Paediatric Basic Life Support (BLS).

Is there an assessment?

Yes. Delegates will complete an assessment on IM and SC injection technique, as well as a short knowledge quiz at the end of the session to confirm their understanding and practical skills.

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. Certificates are issued following attendance and successful completion of both the assessment and knowledge quiz, recognising your achievement.

Does completing the course authorise me to vaccinate?

No. Completion of training does not provide legal authorisation to administer vaccines. Delegates must be authorised by their employing or host organisation under an appropriate Patient Group Direction (PGD) or Patient Specific Direction (PSD).

What to know before and after a course?
