Practical, hands-on training designed for healthcare professionals, aligned with UK National Minimum Standards for Immunisation Training.

Course Overview

This course provides practical, hands-on training in vaccination and injection techniques, designed to build confidence, competence, and safe clinical practice.​ This course is suitable for healthcare professionals, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, registered nurses, nursing associates, and other clinical staff required to administer vaccines as part of their role.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Intramuscular (IM) injection techniques

  • Subcutaneous (SC) injection techniques

  • Intranasal vaccine administration

  • Recognition and management of anaphylaxis

  • Adult and paediatric basic life support (BLS)

  • Infection prevention and sharps safety

  • Consent, documentation, and legal considerations

All learners receive hands-on practice with real-time feedback.

HOW THE COURSE IS DELIVERED

 

Delivered face-to-face in small groups or 1:1 sessions, combining theory, demonstration, and hands-on practical training in a supportive learning environment.​

 

COURSE OPTIONS 

  • Private training (1:1 or 1:2): 2-hour focused session

  • Small-group training: 3.5-hour structured session

Pre-course learning materials will be sent via email after booking and should be reviewed prior to attending your session.

ASSESSMENT & CERTIFICATION

You will complete a practical competency assessment in IM and SC injection techniques, alongside a short knowledge check. A certificate of completion will be provided upon successful completion.​​

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

This course provides the practical skills required for vaccination. You must have appropriate legal authorisation in place (such as a PGD or PSD) through your employer before administering vaccines.
